How Students Using Windows 7 can Show Hidden Files and Folder.

Students using Windows 7 can show or hide certain files and folders that are marked as hidden. Windows 7 includes the ability to show or hide certain files and folders that are marked as hidden, which comes in handy when you want to remove critical or private items from normal view.

If you are wondering how you can hide files and folders from view, you have to follow the same steps for showing hidden files. The only difference is that you must right click on the folder or file you want to hide and select on properties.

Then check the checkbox  hidden. You will see a windows dialog box that will ask you whether you want to hide the folder alone or the contents inside the folder. Choose the suitable option and click ok.

By now you will notice two things, either the folder becomes slightly transparent or it is hidden from view. If it is slightly transparent, it then means that by default windows was set  to show hidden files. If it is hidden from view, it then means that windows was set not to show hidden files.

To show hidden folders or files, click the organize button when you are in any folder view. You can click Computer from the start menu and then select Folder and Search Options.

Then, click the View tab and select the box saying Show hidden files, folders and drives then click OK:

Hidden files will now be shown! If you wish to hide them, simply click Don't show hidden files, folders and drives in the last stage.
